Hi Len, I did see the post was old but I was so hopeful :-) My pain is in the back of the knee right below the bulge in the back of my knee. I was looking today after my 8 mile run this morning that there is slight bruising in that area. Since incurring the injury on Friday I have been doing RICE as much as possible. I was real nervous about how it was going to behave during my run and found I didn't have pain while running, but, when I stopped on my first walk break, I had pain. The pain went away when I began running again. When I walked again, pain wasn't so bad but was there. Finished my run and have been taking it easy. I have been looking a lot online (which is always a great thing to do LOL) and think that the popliteus muscle might be the culprit. I will work on making sure stride is short and sweet :-) I appreciate so much that you responded with me. Luckily my only goal is to finish with this being my first marathon.
